about

Tang Hamilton's Immeasurable Heat is an artistic exploration into a more ambient soundscape than previously tried. Tang Hamilton comes after and draws inspiration from oversea travel across Taiwan and Japan.

The EP relies heavily on exploring new equipment- Korg Kaossilator Pro, Yamaha Portasound PS-200 and a portable AM/FM Radio. Combined with a stripped back effects board (Cathedral Reverb, Boss DD7, Parametric EQ and DOD Death Metal), Tang Hamilton acts as stepping stone away from a harsher more aggressive Noise sound toward a braid of Ambient, noise and Experimental Music.

The subject of the EP, 'Tang Hamilton's Immeasurable Heat' simply comes from a random Wikipedia search which came up with Ex-NBA Player Tang Hamilton.

Tang Hamilton was an undrafted player in the NBA who played 9 games with the Miami Heat in the 2001/02 NBA season. After his time with the Heat, his contract was picked up and dropped by a number of NBA teams before he had a healthy but rather unknown career playing Basketball in countries like Korea, Israel, Argentina, and Venezuela. Although a career of traveling the world and playing basketball isn't one to be frowned at, a youtube search of Tang Hamilton comes up with no footage or gameplay.

Although the song names are playful toward Tang Hamilton's career, this EP is not about Tang Hamilton.
Mount Kuma attempts to create a story of his own with his soundscapes from the viewpoint of a struggling basketball player (or Artist) who never really broke through, and potentially never really lived his dream.
Never lived up to the hype that was around him from such a young age as well as dealing with the pressure and criticisms that come with this.
The troubling times this causes, confusion, and isolation within the head of the player. Until Finally, a reflection back over the life lived, both good and bad times leads to a realization that you lived the life you wanted and it was a good life. This EP is this person's story.
